Handheld PCs’ customer, Skanska Utilities, has won the prestigious Microsoft People Moving Business Award in the category of ‘Contribution to the Environment’.  

The awards recognise the efforts and success achieved by public and private sector organisations in the field of mobile working.  Handheld PCs developed an integrated mobile working solution for Skanska Utilities for nearly 500 of its field service workers.  The system transmits time/data/location-stamped pictures of work in progress to the Skanska back-office system so that office-based Managers and Quality Inspectors can assess works in real-time without the need to necessarily travel to site, saving valuable time and fuels costs.
